Well I installed the heatmap theme available in the download section and I am trying to add a widget. The problem is the widget i am trying to add on the sidebar is not showing up and the ones that come default with wordpress are not showing up on the widget editor page so I cant remove them. Can someone tell me how I can remove these widgets and add new ones ?

    appearance > editor

The codes for what will show up on the sidebar are probably on sidebar.php

And probably for this theme the "dinamic sidebar" is not present, so widgets you add via the "widgets" section won´t show up.

Just skim through the file and youll start seeing patterns(search for something that is on your sidebar currently), just edit the divs and tables out and add whatever you wish to. Make sure to have a backup ready if you´re not too savvy on php.

rest assured the sidebar items are listed on one of the .php files of the template. as I mentioned, it´s probably on the sidebar.php but it can vary from theme to theme. your best bet would be to search on the footer, but it can be on other files as well.

I figured it out, for anyone having the same problem go on heatmap options under appearance and turn off presets.
