Help with VPS, please.

Ok so I'm new to VPS(As i m giving up on shared hosting) and i bought one for 12 months but got no clue how to properly choose.

The VPS will be used for Wordpress(Websites hosting) mostly and I m trying to debate between the CentOS 7 and CentOS 8. As i see, a Cpanel isn't compatible with CentOS 8 which makes it difficult.

Should i go for CentOS 7?

Do you have Cpanel license already?
According to your post you have unmanaged VPS. Maybe that is better consider another cheaper control panel alternatives?

I'm going with Ubuntu 20.04. CentOS 8 is newer than 7 and good but it is not suitable for cpanel script I'm using.

Go with Debian 10/11 or ubuntu . Centos is in end of life and abandonned by redHat

I use Ubuntu with EasyEngine to install wordpress.
But I have one server with Centos, and use CWP for panel (due to the main plugins I use can't run on the usual "ubuntu - easyengine combo").
