I'd say i'm pretty new to website building... I've had my site for about 1 month now, have posted many articles with long-tail KWs, and submitted my site to a few directories, but the only traffic i'm getting is from stumbleupon. Any seo advice? And what are some methods to bring me traffic besides seo... it's frustrating. Also, what is the best way to build backlinks to specific pages?

Have you tried forums which related to your niche?

  3. The best way to get backlink at the beggining is to make guest blogging and create relationship with other blogger (so they will check your post and eventually link back to you)
You can also publish article in article directory...
but, be careful, don't spam... don't put zillion of link, be genuine in your articles/ guest blogging

I have registered on a forum in my niche. How do you get traffic from signatures besides link signatures? They only bring 5-20 visitors.

Links in your forum signature, you need to post valuable content as I'm sure you will know. To maximize your chances of getting traffic through your links you need to be helping people and show that you know what you are talking about. One word answers/posts won't get you much traffic. Your sig links also need to encourage people to click them, something that will benefit them from clicking the link.

You could also post links relative to peoples posts. If someone is asking a certain question and you recently published a blog post or content on the exact question then you could point them in that direction. That doesnt mean sending them to a squeeze page or sales page though!

Also join more than one forum in your niche and become active.

There are many ways to drive traffic to a site such as Social media, Videos, Forums, Blogs, SEO, Paid traffic and more.

All of these can not be discussed in one sitting.

Use the search button on the forum, Google, YouTube to find answers to your questions.

Hi...I understand you are currently frustrated with the traffic your newly launched website is currently getting. You need patience man! It takes at least 90 days for new websites to start getting traffic from search engines! Lack of patience can wreck your efforts even before you start seeing visitors.

I strongly advise you to continue posting quality contents! It will soon start paying off!

Thanks to all. Can you be more specific on Web 2.0s for traffic?
I am still only getting traffic from stumbleupon and occasionally a few hits from blog comments. My rankings seem to be getting better on seo.

Continue doing manual comments, seems you are getting some traffic from it. For new blogs that I create, I do manual commenting in a few times a day in related niches for the first 2 weeks. Traffic will increase and sometimes you build connections with other bloggers which can lead to guest blogging.

You can build backlinks from another web 2.0 platform(related to you website). Create a fake profile, 1-3 filler articles over and one article with a link back to your site spread over a 2 week period(im extreme as some people build web 2.0 with just one article with success) They are many articles on web 2.0 on bhw with more detail if you do a search. Good luck
