Hi all,

In the past I've always created my .pdf InfoProducts without making them secure.

However it has recently been brought to my attention that some cheeky bugger is stealing (copy and pasting) the content from my ebooks.

I know making them secure is not the perfect solution for preventing Infoproduct content theft but it's a step in the right direction

So how by using OpenOffice Writer to export a .odt file into a .pdf file can I ensure the .pdf file is secure?

I'm just testing this water with this forum to see if there are any helpful bods on here.;)

You can do it with adobe acrobat... i did it easily.
Just grab a torrent of adobe acrobat search torrentz.c0m and you are good to go

Ok thanks for that, but I'm very happy with OpenOffice Writer and don't really have the time to learn some new software.

Besides I'm self-employed and a father of four so my time is very precious.

Does anyone else know a way of doing this using OpenOffice writer?

Cheers.

Go to nitro pdf download free software.

You can convert ms word docs to pdfs.

It will also allow you to password protect your pdfs and prevent copying and pasting.

You can also prevent people printing it or at least only allowing it (your document pdf) to be printed only in low quality.

Should prevent a lot of people stealing your work.

At the end of the day pdfs are insecure regardless. Sure you can password protect the pdf, but if you can print a pdf, you can copy it using OCR. If you can read the pdf you could just open them to Finereader and i doubt that will have any problem converting it to any given format. :)

So yeah, i'd recommend full acrobat to secure it, but from what i've seen, it can be copied using various OCR programs almost without exception.

PDF Converter Pro is really good at converting to secure pdf files. As stated you cant keep it from being copied you can only slow them down.

Just wanna give a heads up.

I've only found one ebook that this site couldn't open.Unfortunately I don't know with what program the pdf was made.Anyway-maybe alot of work but you could check to see if your pdf is crackable with the following site. HTH
