help with my adward account

this is the 3rd or 4th time i'm trying to use google adwords for my service business.. and i really wanted to know if there is anyway to know what will be the perfect bid on a certain keyword strait from the beginning or i have to go and keep changing it until i get the right numbers?
also my only need is to get a call i have no intention to drive ppl to my website, there is any good advice that you can give me?

It varies from campaign to campaign, keyword to keyword, also on the basis of your three previous tries, with the help of any analytics software you can get an idea on what is working for you, the cpc costs on keywords actually vary, it depends on many factors, such as quality score, ads, competition, keywords and you have to keep changing it until you get the right number.

I don' t think there is a fool-proof way to hit the exact right number right off the bat. Also, prices fluctuate based on demand.

You can however use the traffic estimator or keyword planner to try and set a good bid. Those tools typically provide a pretty accurate picture of what you should be bidding. Of course you should still watch the account until it is performing well.

For your phone call requirement, use ad extensions and put your logo and phone number in there. I'm assuming you only want local people for this? If so, you can set up your targeting to be a small geographic location.

thanks shawn.. that's what i thought the answer will be.. i guess i never kept the camping long enough to optimize it in the right way always got scared after few hundred dollars down
my service fild is exteamly compatitive it can go as high as $30 per click for high performance keywords..

if you are looking for Calls from adwords campaign then i would like to suggest you that put Toll free Number on your landing page first at least 2-3 places on landing page. it may be on top, bottom or middle.

you can check avg bid & first page bid for your targeted keywords from Google adwords keyword tool.
