help with ebay/paypal situation

    i've been selling these specfic creams for awhile and get them from the actual manufacturer and i've never had a problem with them .
    today my customer emailed me this.

    Hi, Just opened this the other day....let me say, I have used this product
    daily for years! Usually buy from Whole Foods but your price was so great
    I thought I'd try it. Since, I've used yours, I have had a reaction with
    my face and eyes. ..I could NOT figure out what was wrong (burning eyes and
    face)...and I finally, decided to NOT use your container and try another
    ....that I picked up at WF..I know it sounds strange but I CANNOT use the
    one you sent. Perhaps it is a bad batch? The expiration seems fine but
    the product is not. You should be aware of this because perhaps you work
    with a wholesaler. I KNOW THIS PRODUCT....and I am asking for a full
    refund. I thought about writing to paypal about this but wanted to contact
    you first. Please advise...as I have already listed positive feedback
    because I had not opened it yet but I am trusting you will do the right
    thing. Thank you and be well! I look forward to hearing from you asap as
    this stuff is NOT cheap :)

    so i'm not really sure what to do with this? i'm just afraid i'm getting scammed because i've never had problems with my product. and if she were to actually file a claim with paypal, would she actually win under thier buyer protection? i've just kinda been scammed so many times and i'm still a little bit of a newbie so i really need advice.

    what should i do? thank you so much for your help! i really appreciate it.

    First change the color of the font, we can't see the message (I had to highlight to see it). Things like this happen (maybe true or maybe not). But if the buyer reports, there is a good chance that paypal being the a$$**** they're refund the buyer. If it's not a big loss for you and this is the first time it happened, just refund and move on. The guy has already given you good feedback.

    Just reply to him nicely and say sorry to hear his story and that you have been selling the product for a long time and never en-countered this issue, but that you will check with your supplier just in-case. Thanks for his paitence with this and the money has been refunded.

    Yes, PayPal will rule against you if it comes to that.

    Just refund the money when you receive the shipment back. You should have refund policies clearly stated in your listings.

    This is known as the cost of doing business.

    I'll jump on the bandwagon. Paypal almost always sides with the buyer. Have to agree with ran606016, refund and call it a day. Not a complete loss.

    refund and also ask for the product back, take it to the manuf and ask whats wrong, if the buyer is serious, this could be a problem, im sure the manuf would like to know whats wrong with their product..

    Tell them you will refund them once they return the package. Say you need it returned for testing.

    This is good information. I'm sure many people (Sellers) run into issues like this and panic. Follow the advice given here, I'm sure you'll be find.

    Tell him your sorry the product didnt meet his expectations and tht you agree with hi. Tell him to test the same product again and tell him to lert you know if he had a reaction to it or not. Im sure the company will replace it for you. This will show that you care.

    Well it could be actually something wrong with the product or just buyer tries to scam you.In either case the good thing is that she left you already positive feedback so she cant threaten you with negative feedback.You could just refund and ask for return of the item so you can inspect it if its not a big loss for you , refunding her.If she goes with dispute paypal route then most likely paypal sides with buyers even if they are wrong.
