Hi,

First does anyone know a good conversion level that a website should do for a cleaning service or service industry ?

I have a client that is only converting at less than .5 percent. I think its horrible and they need their web designed and copy written or something.

Can you guys give some tips to help this website convert better. I have them seod really well. and have them ranked number 1 for their company .

But, they are getting 500 people looking for a cleaning company and only getting a couple forms a day or calls. and only landing a couple. I know you cant get everyone but I would think at least 3 conversion or higher should be realistic.

So help where can I turn too.

the site is mightycleanhome com

Here are two tips that will make a dramatic difference:

1) Have a headline... and make that headline strong. A cute saying in a banner doesn't count as a headline. Also.... the headline should be above the fold at a minimum and in a big bold font. (Tahoma, Verdana, Impact are all pretty good.)

2) The form on the RH side is just a link. Why are you doing that? First... someone expects to click IN the form... not have it take you to another page with a horrendous amount of fields to be filled in.

WHY ask all those questions? That is what the phone is for. Does the customer want info or leads? Won't getting them on the phone and asking just enough info to get by be better than turning people away by asking for all of that up front before I trust you?

I would not fill in a form that long for sure.

So... make the form short. Put a REAL form in the sidebar... and make it submit from the home page.

That will definitely improve conversions.

P.S. Trash the newsletter signup form. My bet is that you have no one filling that out any way. Using a simple script, you can add anyone who fills out the main form to your Aweber list anyway... besides sending them to another database to be contacted right away. Don't rely on the Aweber to do that btw... because if they are ALREADY on your Aweber list... they will be de-duped and the email notification that goes out to tell you that you have a new lead will not be sent... a common mistake with newbies on web forms from providers like Aweber, GetResponse, etc.

Here is my feed back and you can do with it as you want.

First The layout of the site is all wrong. This format or set up is good for online marketing and getting people to sign up for stuff when you have a ton of traffic.

For this business. if they are ranked really well you have to take a look at the terms and make sure that you have the right terms to be ranked under.

Then look at the site like a customer would be the first thing they dont want to see is a sign up form. Right off the bat you should have some images showing before and after pics of work they have done.

Make it easy for the customer to find things they are looking for. Highlight on the home page the service that gets the most request.

This is just a fast feedback. There is a lot more you could do with this site to make it convert better.

awesome feedback guys keep it coming. I want to have the site redesign and definitely agree with some of these tips especially with the form being to long and pics of before and after or quality after pics.

I really need this site to convert better.

i think there are too many cookie cutter graphics. maybe take a picture of their truck or of the cleaners themselves, or of rooms/houses they've cleaned etc, etc
