i need help with an online fundraising campaign. This is the first time to do something like this. I created a simple fundraising campaign on this site: gogetfunding. I want to help the families from Syria who has to set their lives in my country - Bulgaria. I have spent more then an year in one of the fugitive camps in the capital - Sofia. I was there from the first months when there were more then 1000 people stuck in this old school building - with no beds, no windows, no fresh water, no toilets. I have seen people who died from cold. It was terrible. Now the building is repaired. The government announced that millions were spent but the truth is that only 200-300K went for the right purpose. "The first wave" of fugitives is already gone to Germany. I worked hard to help many people with the paperwork. Me, personally, i gave most of my clothes. I took several very sick children to the hospital and convinced their parents to let the doctors treat them in the hospital. But still, there are hundreds who has to stay here as they get such type of ids that do not let them leave the country. Of course some try to pay and pass the border illegaly. But most have to stay here. So this is the country policy: the fugitives enter our country. They get a card with photo, name and number. They stay in one of the camps /there are 3 big camps in Sofia/. They apply for a statut document - it means that our agency for fugitives has to decide to give them a 3 or 5 year document. /Those who get 3 year document can not leave Bulgaria./ I have even seen ridiculous decisions such as: the father and the children get 5 year document, and the wife gets 3 year one???!!!! What!!!????Anyway... Next step. After getting this statut document, the fugitives must leave the camp. Where to go? Nobody cares. Every fugitive /of age above 18/ gets about 32-35euro per month. This is all they get from our country. So they don`t speak our language, they have many kids to take care of, no place to live, no work. Some of them have friends here. But they can not help everyone.
Now, what is my purpose. I am a real estate agent so i can help those people rent an appartment. Althought it is a difficult job to find someone who is willing to accept arabic people as tenants. Anyway - i am doing my best. I need funds to help syrian families rent an appartment, to help them learn bvulgarian, to integrate the children in schools. I just want to help them to start their lives here. I have to admit that i am tired to talk with people accusing me in scamming. I am ready to share my info, tel. number and everything needed.
As i am a newbie and i have no idea how to promote an online campaign, i am asking for help. I know that social medias are the greatest start. Unfortunately, knowing how bulgarians treat the arabic people, i can only take negatives by sharing this campaign. Thats why i decided to try with online campaign and try to spread it internationally.
I will appreciate any kind of help - advices, sharing the link etc.
