Put a compelling video on your site at least 30 seconds long. 1 minute is better.
Split your article into two sections so that your visitor has to go to another page to finish reading.
Put a puzzle on the page, or a game.
Give something away that requires the visitor to click thru to another page.
Put an info graphic on the site, link to it from the home page.
Put a flow chart or mind map on the page.
Have a graphic built of a blueprint of somethinga nd put it on a page. I have one of a hamburger, its made like a cad drawing and has a bill of material and everything on it.
Put in a humor section, and thumbnail it on the home page.
Put a link ahlfway thru the article and at the end that links to additional related information on the page, so your visitor will go there next.
Put a hidden spot on the pagel with n Easter egg on it. I went to one that had an exploding page graphic, when I found find the graphic, my screen showed a quick screen explosion. It looked a lot like the old Batman BAM graphics. I spent 20 minutes trying to find it...( I lost this site, if anyone has seen it, pm me the URL.)
Put a link on the home page that leads to another page where your visitors can request content they would like to see.
