Hello all, long time reader, first time poster. I run a site for my business which has been constantly number one on rankings for my key words.
Recently, I have noticed the meta description is displaying a youtube javascript message "Try watching this video on youtube, or enable JavaScript if it is disabled in your browser. "
It then goes in to my designated meta description.
Could anybody help me with this or could guide me in the right direction as to finding this and removing it.
Thank you so much!

If you use wordpress, use Yoast plugin to change the meta.

Yes it is wordpress and I do use yoast. The meta is set up correctly in there yet still displays the java message on google. Ive checked the source and the meta code is correct as well. Also done some external "what google sees" sites and the meta also appears correct on there so I am a bit confused.

I had messed around with some plugins to try to increase site speed which may have altered how java is loaded like "auto-optimize". I have now disabled all of those plugins but the damage may have already been done. Thanks for the replies!

Use yoast seo plugin you can set meta description in quite easily.

Where do you see the meta des that appears the js error?

Go for the Yoast SEO plugin and you would already be able to perform what you're trying to do. It can be easily solved by that.

That is weird. However, use Yoast SEO for these things.

All these people stating to use Yoast to fix this... when you clearly state you are already using. Make sure you allow google to crawl your javascript files? Yoast might be disabling this, or your htaccess may be disabling this. However it looks like your already used "fetch as google" to test this. Are you testing it on the same page you see the error? It might get fixed once google re-crawls your page. Maybe send a request to re-crawl.

I already am using Yoast and have the proper description, it is still showing the wrong description.

Kid18010 - I am seeing the wrong description in google organic search results.

It could be google cache of the page before you do the on page? Have you tried to create another page with on-page, then wait a few days for it to be indexed, then check on google.

Thanks all, the more Im looking into it, it seems it was one of the java speed up plugins I used which is causing issues. Big mistake, now when I search the keywords which have been #1 for years, my site isnt even showing up! Ten minutes later its there..... Off and on for the last 8 hours. What could cause that i wonder?

May I know which plugin you used? So I can stay away from it :D

SEO Yoast is best to fix this issue. If it not resolves then try ALL in One SEO plugin
