what u mean by buying a stronger antenna, an antenna for what?
I currently have nothing expect the laptop...
If you buy wifi adapter with external out for antenna connector, you can buy also stronger antenna and connect it to wifi adapter if the one in package is not enough.
That's correct. But first if you have opportunity u can borrow this stuff from your friends in dormitory and try to connect. Then go for shopping.

With a 25 foot or thereabouts USB extensor cord and you're done. One end of the cord goes into your laptop, the other end in your USB adapter and use multiple strips of cellophane tape to tape the adapter to highspot on your window (keep laptop near window also, if possible) and you're digi!
