Help: Want to Start Web Development and Hosting company

Hello Guys,

I am thinking to start web development and hosting company as secondary work.
I am not expecting any profit for next 1 year, because i have primary work for earnings. Please advice me how i should start? I already have alot of experience.

From where i should get clients and what offers i should give them so they can stay as long as possible.

There's also the WHT forum, you can post your offer there also.
For development projects use Upwork & Freelancer platforms to search for projects you can do and start by bidding on them.
Also, check the Hire a Freelancer section here you could find someone who's looking to hire you.


There's the local market too, you can start contacting businesses in your area and offer to create a website + hosting + domain name for a good price until you have a solid portfolio.

For getting clients you can check fiverr, Upwork, cold email and cold call companies in your local area that do not have a website, same with websites that are old etc.

And also checkout for sites that do not have ssl. A lot of sites are showing those after the chrome updates. The majority are old sites that are not properly managed. Call them and offer to implement that. It might not cost you also since you can use let's encrypt.

And offer them to manage their sites including taking backups. Charge a fee for that.

I seen a pretty cool method for getting clients somewhere here on bhw - what you can do is find people "hiring for gfx designer" or "web designer" and basically apply with a fake alias get contact info and then contact them with your services essentially.

I can't find the thread but that's one good way to get clients.
