[HELP] Using IM To Emigrate To America??

Why move to the US? (I'm American, btw) Do you realize the ramifications of taxes for businesses located there vs other places in the world? Look at SE Asia...China would probably be easier as well. The trick is to have a money site that earns GBP or USD, and live in a place where those currencies have 2 or 3 x their buying power.

NDAA = 1 reason why you shouldn't go to US.

Best go to india or somewhere where average salary is 100$ / month. You'll live like a king even with 1.000$ / month

Anything above 10k and you'll be named Emperor of India! ) haha

Anyway, my advice is not to go to usa. totalitarian & police state soon to become... and besides, eastern philosophy will be good for your soul!

I used to believe America was great. I still think it is in many ways. The lifestyle is fantastic if you live in the right place. Good climate, access by car within hours to any kind of outdoor activity you want, consumer goods of every kind and generally speaking, as nice people as you'll find anywhere in the world.

What puts me off now is government. This idea that America is "land of the free" is total BS. It's not at all. In so many ways, the US govt likes to f*k its citizens in the @ss.

Don't get me wrong, this happens in the UK too as I'm sure you'll know. But in my view it is worse in America. Just look at incarceration for one. Jail sentences are stiff and you have to join a gang as soon as you are in. Crazy.

California seems amazing to me but it's expensive. I love New York but surely everyone tires of that after some time. The smaller cities are probably best long term.

I also think Canada has got to be a better bet. Far fewer problems there though I hear it gets more and more like America every year.

If I get rich one day, I will visit America often but probably not live there whole year round. There are many European countries which are way better than US and UK which are both consumerist, socially broken, crime-ridden, government intrustive hell-holes by comparison.

And Asia is even better. Sure, corruption is rife in some asian countries but its just a different type of corruption. And if you go somewhere like Hong Kong then you have the best of West and East. China is still a little "Wild West" but I wanna go there too.

I'm also have a plan to migrate to U.S.
But after reading all comments from U.S resident itself make me think twice.

I have a holiday home in west palm beach Florida it is great to stay in for a month or so a year but leaving in America full term might fry your head. The thing that is scariest me about America is crime i wouldn't raise children there without being scared all the time.

Don't worry about the different governments from country to country. If you looked into it you would never leave the house (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Demetrius my uncle was jailed for 4 years without trail).

You have to see what you want.

Is it warm weather (Spain,Turkey, Australia), more work or better money (Australia and asia in general is booming) or is it better quality of life? A previous poster mentioned take a decent amount of money from the UK and leave like a king in Thailand or somewhere like this

Its all up to you but rent a house and leave there for the full allowed 90 days. you will get a feel for the country by then.

Move to Romania and start a business there,it has alot of growth potential.

Ah to be 20 again....... If you get to the point where you have enough money to be accepted by the US to emigrate and start a business taking on employees you will probably have changed your mind. You'd be better off buying a holiday home there.

I saw a documentary about Brits who did just as you said. Some had children born there and then their businesses went tits up and they lost their residency. As fars as I understand it's never permanent and they check your finances every few years. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

They were being forced back to the UK and the kids had to go too! These kids were American, had American accents, went to American schools, had American friends etc etc and were having to relocate to the UK with their British parents who were going bankrupt in the US. Total nightmare.

I bought a place in Cyprus once to live the dream. 3 months of 40c temperatures and sitting on the beach every day soon wore off and I sold up. Now I'd rather rent somewhere for a month as and when I please.

I hear the streets are paved with gold in Florida lol.. Doesnt it have the highest crime rate in the U.S?

Id head for eastern europe. You can drive all over europe without the need for a boat or plane..

Rules are also more relaxed in E Europe and prices are lower. Only downside is the language but you can hire a translator.

Thats not to say you could buy a holiday house in florida. Was looking at the prices and they are dirt cheap. One eastern european house on the sea would get you 4 houses in florida.... Madness..

You might not be able to start your own business if your friends BOUGHT one. Perhaps it would be more likely for you to buy a business - i.e: get an American to set up an LLC, hire 2 full time workers to do work on YOUR sites, then sell you the business (with the infrastructure set up already).

It wouldn't be expensive or hard to get some help from someone on here.

Why the hell would you want to move to the US?

1. The taxes here are ridiculous.
2. The federal reserve is printing money and feeding it to congress and politicians, causing serious inflation and a corrupt government. Not too mention we're on the verge of a serious depression because of it.
3. We're starting countless wars oversees, which is only increasing the chance of us being attacked, not preventing it.
4. If we end up at war with Iran, and don't pull out of Afghanistan soon, there is a possibility of a draft. The media is already discussing it and fears of too many soldiers coming back with PTSD is giving them an excuse. You saw the soldier who just killed 16 innocent people in Afghanistan right? They hate us, and they will retaliate, and we'll blame them when it happens.

Don't move here, bottom line.

Well mate..I moved to the US (NewYork - Jersey City) from India.. moving from UK is far easier. It was easy for me because of an Engineering and an MBA degree and a with a well paying job in an MNC.. I quit the job and got in to IM full time.. In your case your age might be an issue, however you can try for a student's visa and go and settle over there.. there are good number of colleges to which you can get in to easily,..
