    Hi there,
I'm gonna use TumblrStudio and other bots for the first time and I'm required to enter my proxies.

Even though I do know that a proxy gives you a different IP to protect your identity and allow you to spam and automate better, I'm having troubles distinguish the types of proxies.

I was going to buy HMA, but I've found here threads about "private" proxies or people looking for "fresh" proxies... which makes me think that the
"a proxy masks your IP" thing is probably the tip of a huge iceberg...

Could someone point me to the right direction to understand the world of proxies and if HMA is my best bet?

    Thanks
    Joe

There are public proxies, shared proxies, and private proxies.

Public proxies can be found on public websites like HMA. The problem is many of them get used up very fast by people and cause them to stop working quickly.

Shared proxies are a little bit more reliable. They are shared by a small number of people. But still don't belong to only you.

Private proxies are proxies that you buy and pay for monthly and they only belong to you - no one else can use them. They are the most reliable and work the best unless you f them up yourself.

I'm going to use it with tumblstudio and generally to autopost on social media.
    Will HMA do the job?

    Thanks

Public ips may work for a while. However as people spam and abuse them which will most likely happen because they are available publicly then it is possible the the admin where you have posted your stuff to will run a script to remove everything from know spam IP blocks. Thus, removing your hard work. If you are looking for longterm tactics, then it may not be the way to go. If you are looking to churn and burn, then go for it.

Ok so basically HMA PRO VPN at $11/month for a public proxy is a lot then if I have to keep changing my proxies with people screwing them up.

I've googled some private proxies and found trustesproxies, which say they don't allow pornography and autoposting on social media... which is exactly what I need a proxy for: autoposting (legal of course) pornography on social media.

What do you think is my best option at this stage?
    Thanks

I use proxy-hub semi-dedicated proxies and they have been fast and good for me so far. I am not in the adult niche so you may want to double check that your niche is allowed first. I do use them with scrape box though.

HMA VPN is not a public proxy. You have to pay money for it, and not everyone can access it. Public would mean it's just open for everyone.

With a VPN you can only use 1 IP at a time. If you want to use a program with a bunch of threads, creating accounts or something else where you need lots of different IP's, then a VPN isn't going to work that well. If 1 IP is ok, then a VPN is a great choice.

Private proxies are good. You get many IP's and you will be the only one using them. A little pricey though.

Shared private proxies are private proxies that a few people will use together, usually this is enough for most people, and priced well.

Public proxies you already get the point I think, anyone can use them. That doesn't make them useless though. You should test each option and see which works the best if your budget allows it. Only you are going to be able to figure out what works best for your needs.

As an aside, HMA VPN is good to use if you find a VPN is what you need. buyproxies.org is good for private/shared private proxies, and kensai's public proxy list is a good source of paid public proxies.

    Thanks for your reply.

As said above I'm looking to use TumblrStudio by LordSenf to autopost "adult content" on tumblr under multiple accounts. From your post it seems that VPN is not my best bet if I only get 1 IP, since I'll probably need more than 1 to avoid getting canned soon.

Do you know any proxies that allow adult content and autoposting? Or they are forbidden everywhere and people just do it?
    Thanks

I should have been more clear. You get access to tens of thousands of ip's, but you can only be connected to 1 at a time. You can reconnect to get a new IP.

    Here's how it works:

A proxy acts as a media between you and some website, so the website doesn't see your IP address but the proxy one. The big advantage is, if you have a tool that manages accounts on web2.0 sites, you can put 10 proxies and work on 10 different accounts at the same time without having accounts removed. For the website it will look like 10 different users/computers - that's what they are used for.

HMA can only give you one IP address at a time. With private proxies it only depends on the ability of the software. Have a look at squidproxies for shared/private proxies.
