    I have a wordpress site www.mysite.com hosted at hostgator and I need to copy everything on it to www.mysite2.com which is hosted by NFO servers. If anyone could hop on teamviewer and show me how it's done, I'd be more than thankful. Can compensate as well. I've been trying to do this for a while now and am miserably failing which is making me question my intellect.

    Thanks for reading.

    Right. Used it before and it's great. Only problem (which I feel stupid for not mentioning in my previous post) is that my wordpress site is locked by hostgator due to some type of malware. I have access to the cpanel but that is it.

    You're going to need to clarify your position here on that your files are locked at hostgator. No need to question your intellect, or to get anyone to do this for you.

    Step .5 - A good common practice is to deactivate all plugins prior to moving a site, but honestly I've never had a problem with the below procedure without doing this step - however - many caching plugins will cause problems upon a wordpress migration - so at times it can be critical to take this step.

    1. Zip All Files In The Wordpress Installation Folder Into 1 File For Easy Download And Re-Upload.
    2. Go to phpmyadmin in Cpanel, and export your wordpress database in .sql format.
    3. Upload the zip file to your new server in the correct folder, and extract the files.
    4. Create a database in cpanel that matches the original database name of your wordpress database.
    5. Create a database user in cpanel that matches the original database username of your wordpress database, and be sure to add it to the database with ALL permissions.
    6. Manually edit the file wp-config.php by adding these two lines below:
    define('WP_HOME','http://example.com');
    define('WP_SITEURL','http://example.com');

    Be sure to replace example.com with your new domain and/or sub-folder or sub-directory information.

    7. Navigate to http://yoursite/yourwordpressinstallation/wp-admin.

    8. Don't forget to adjust your nameserver settings at your domain registrar as well. If this is hostgator - it could be hard to find where to make those changes, and you may need to contact them as their third party domain registrar portal is about useless.

    It might take a couple tries to get this kind of thing down, but the whole process is so easy. I've moved hundreds of wordpress sites using this procedure without fail. Be sure to delete the added lines in the wp-config.php file as soon as your site is properly functioning again. They just need to be there long enough for your wordpress install to recognize where it relocated.

    Feel free to hit me by PM if you haven't gotten this done yet, and I will walk you through it.
