[HELP] transfer wordpress to new host

good day members

can someone please help me or point me to a guide that helps me move my wordpress blog from one host to another

i've read and implemented few guides that i got through google but somehow the damn thing gets screwed up somewhere and i end up having a blank page

my present blog is installed in a folder like this:
/home/xxxx/public_html/mysite*.com/
and i want to install in the main directory of the new host

PS: a guide on moving from a folder of a host to a folder of another host also would be appreciated

i can do this for a charge... but actually to help u out.. there was a thread created just a few days with video explaining how to move your wordpress from one host to another... just use the search button, u should be able to find it.
 
being installed in a sub folder doesn't matter. Moving a wordpress site is quite simple but can be a headache the first time around.

that should be enough but if not I could move it for you(free) but would need server details. If you feel you can trust me I'll do it. If not no hard feelings, maybe a member that has more credentials to the forum will step in and help

How hard is it to move blogs from one domain to another?

At present I have blogs on subdomains but want to change the main domain and place all of the blogs on the current subdomains on the new domain as they currently are.

I.E - blog1.maindomain.info
blog2.maindomain.info

moved to

blog1.maindomain.com
blog2.maindomain.com

I want to change the main domain which is a '.info' to a '.com'

Does that make sense? If so, is it possible to do and how difficult is it?

I have 24 blogs, each on a different subdomains to move.
 
Moving file is easy, just move it to another server and you're ready to go. I think moving the database would be a hard thing to do for newbies, especially when moving to another host with different user id on cpanel. A lot of people doing it for a charge, so I think it's worth the money so you don't get headache on learning MySQL and other techie stuffs.
 
take backup of your database
also backup plugins, themes and pic/video link
then move
 
I'm guessing that there is probably a relly cool plugin that does all of the backing up?

Thanks guys, I'll go search for a plugin that does all of this and if I find one I'll post back about it so others can benefit
 
I just went through the same process and my new hoat actually did it for me.

The trick there is thet both hosts have to be using cPanel for them to do it.:bandit:
