Hey guys.

F*, Ok , I had two accounts with one host.

A VPS, and a Reseller account. Recently, I moved my VPS to hostgator.

When I was certain everything was running smooth, I instructed my old host to discontinue the VPS, but that I'm keeping the Reseller account with around 50 sites on it.

They then deleted the reseller account! All those sites are gone now! :op: :wink1::banghead:

Is there something I can do? Please advise! Can I sue them? I'm loosing business here guys!!

ANY help greatly appreciated!

First things first - have you asked about this from your host? I'm sure they'd be much more likely to be able to help you than any of us here... They might have backups.

Yes ask them if they have any backup. Hope it will sort out your problem

Below is the answer I got from them after 16 HRS!!!!

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Hi G******,

The domain was hosted under your VPS, and the VPS has been since been removed?

Please advise.

And here is what I answered:

Hello

NO, NO, NO!!!! My VPS ip: (bla bla bla) <---- Still running!!

My reseller ip: (bla bla bla) <----- NOT WORKING!!!!

I was very clear regarding this when I requested the cancellation of the VPS!

You deleted the wrong account!

So, where are all my sites?

Below is the wording of my original email send to you!!

===========================================
Hello

username:bla bla bla

Can you please cancel the following product I have with you?
Web Hosting: VPS WHM 1

I am still going to continue with this package:
Web Hosting: Reseller-U-Silver

Awaiting your reply.

Warm Regards

I guess if its a mistake they will activate it as every host have backups try to call them if you have phone numbers.

I just login to my tickets account with my host. They edited the ticket i've send!

I see only this line in the ticket!

NO, NO, NO!!!! My VPS ip: (bla bla bla)
Why would they do that?

My guess is that you are the one that made the mistake and not them - there is no reason for the host to "change" your ticket as they are not liable for anything that happens with your sites. This is why they have TOS and unless they triple-charge your credit card or do something that borders on a criminal activity, you cannot sue them or ask for monetary compensation.

My advice is to take a deep breath and sort it out with them - regardless if you think that it's all their fault, simply be professional and try to get it sorted out ASAP. You have nothing to worry about as I have had sites down for days and that has never affected my long-term SE traffic - as soon as your sites are back, everything should be back to normal.

Good luck

PS barbaric_mustard is right - if you have a smaller account with a host, your sites might not be automatically backed up. Some hosts offer back-ups as an extra that you have to pay for, some will have it included in your plan no matter how small, but you should always have an up to date backup on your hard drive and external media as well (DVDs, CDs, etc.).

I can promise you though, THEY are the ones who deleted the WRONG account!

As I said, I have two accounts with them. VPS and RESELLER!

They deleted the wrong one!

:D AND it is my birthday today on top of it all!! Nice gift!!

Happy BirthDay :D Rock it :)

And Why Dont You Phone Either Support or email To The Host Admins rather than Talking to the Rented/Paid Ticket Keepers?

If they have edited your ticket, The thing is, the Person Did wrong by mistake and he want to continue his Job :D

Phone em up, Or email to someone who is even Top than Ticket keepers :D That Should Solve it!
