Might not be such a stupid question, if you're thinking about gaming the domain/whois tools websites for more backlinks.

    Thank you.

Yes that is one method I had in mind.
However I am not sure exactly how to game whois/domain websites apart from running a script that queries your domainname against many websites such as cubestat

Have you something else in mind?

    Thanks

This could definitely get you listed on more websites that show stats. There are many online submitters for this kind of thing. Look up in Google for the best options in my opinion. I use one but it only does 3,000 links once to a site. Could do more if you used a different URL or sub domain. Keep that in mind when doing SEO more links is better especially from good sites.
