This may be in the wrong place. Sorry in advance for that.

As a kid I was always fascinated by Action Figures and loved to own them.

I have seen many a websites which sell Action Figures online. My question rather the place I am stuck at is where do they find a supplier for those? Also isn't selling branded or brand associates products a copyright or trademark violation?

Like Harry Potter figures or Star Wars figures or things like that? Please be kind enough to point in the right direction for the same.

EDIT 1: I also saw a lot of Pre-Order things on those websites. So what's up with that as well? i'm confused.

Aliexpress, there was someone on this for about 18months ago who was selling 'wands' from Harry Potter and he was killing it.(also not revealing nor destroying his no he, as it was made public)

About 10 years back i was involved in a similar venture for toys.

If you can negociate with official distributors everything is fine legally.

However, if you are looking at selling unofficial products then as soon as you get to any decent size you will get shut down.

I have done both. Unofficial is fast money but no longevity. Official gives you longevity but takes upfront investment.

Dayum I was looking for something more authentic, I do not like AliExpress personally.

Upfront Investment? How much are we talking about? Can you enlighten me a bit more? Also by Official Distributors do you mean people like Target (Official Retail Store) or someone else. Or did i completely not get the point?

Authenticity is made in China. The tags on your clothes are also made in China even though it says. Made in....

So selling items from Ali Express (and by items I mean those Action Figures) won't pose a problem? Also do they actually look good? And yeah China does manufacture a shit ton of products but that amounts to only 28% of the total manufacturing in the world. That is the highest in number but ytou know what I mean.

That depends on the manufacturer from whi J you plan to purchase some offer videos/ review copy to check out their product

You have whitehat, blackhat and my personal favourite greyhat suppliers.

Whatever you do you will need to have set up a way to sell it else you will be sat on inventory.

Whitehat are official wholesalers/distributors of product, contact them directly and typically you have to buy upfront in bulk to get wholesale rates.

Blackhat is the same but counterfeit, from what you said you dont want to do that.

Greyhat is my favourite, this is where you find end of line or bankrupt stock or product targeted for one market you ship to another. That is the most lucrative but takes a lot of digging and the official distributors will hate you.

You also have the option to officially licence a product you then make. That is a whole different game, where you contact the licence holder and pitch your idea usually in return for a % royalty.

Be careful. You will get IP claims. Those who are doing it, will eventually get the notice. Its just a matter of time.
