Help required for page status

Hi All,

Currently i have a website which is having ~40K pages and due to some legal issues i am asked to pull them down.
Now here the scenario is what should be the status for those pages as they will be up after a month when there are legally compliance with law.

Should i make them 503?
Should i make them 404?
Should i make set 302 redirect to homepage?

I don't know about 404,302,503 but you could possibly redirect to an affiliate and earn?
