Help regarding understanding SEO of a website

I am a newbie in the SEO space and was browsing through various under 100k websites when I stumbled upon the site gadgetadda .
The site looks relatively new with some content tech reviews etc. What stuck me was their ranking 66k worldwide ( I am assuming they should in worst case get at least 1-2k users a day)
However, they neither have twitter following nor fb fans and none of their articles are shared anywhere still the have 66k rank ( around 1k in India)
still they attained the rank in a couple of months

Is this really possible, if yes what could be the probable strategies to replicate their model ?

as of today almost SEO strategy is getting down day by day
you should more focus on your content daily
great articles + social sharing = SEO today

Thanks, but their strategy looks to be working was trying to understand how they are doing without backlinks, fb,twitter etc . They have no reference on the web still so high ranking

The site you are talking about is must be the authority site and they were in the niche from last couplr of years.they have quality content and readers ..People like to read their content and they spend more time in sight so google definitely gives them the Authority..

Just think as a Buyer or reader who is finding the answer and if you site has great answer then it will definetly help to that person and he will be your regular reader and on google eyes its more authority site..

The site was registered in Sep 2012 with content submission starting in Feb 2013, so I don't think it is an authority site.
Also it has no page rank , no inbound links ( only 30+ ) , nothing on googlesearch
Also if it were so famous shouldnt we see shares/likes/tweets regarding their articles ?
Note: am assuming that an authority site should get higher ranks on google ranking

It's definitely possible that either:
a) Their demographic doesn't use Twitter or
b) They're not actually integrated with social media and don't have fan pages set up on facebook or whatever

I think they would still get rankings if they had regular readership, they must have a very strong emphasis on content in whatever their niche is to be getting traffic entirely without social media marketing.

ok so it is possible to get such a high ranking in a couple months. I got curious because none of their articles are high on google also they have integrated fb,twitter even linkedin on their pages.
Just want to add they are Indian and India has a lot of social media followers.
Must be having too strong readers who read on their website but do not share anything. Also their ranking is much higher than tech sites in India that are in business for a couple of years.

It's possible to get such rankings in a matter of days, it depends on how dark and blackhat you are willing to go.

But will it sustain and how much such a service cost ?
Really interested in such as service if it gets me some genuine traffic ( they have 10 minutes ave time on the site )?

Sustainability is likely possible with whitehat SEO. With blackhat; is high risk; high return. Good for crash 'n burn sites , ie. make as much as possible with it; then move on.

As for avg. time on the site - that depends on your on page/content.
