yea definitely does...but 301 penalties can't be major....from experience i've seen a 301 pass on about 95% of its page authority to the new site.

Now this is getting interesting, money site is now ranking on page 1/2 for all the main keywords for the 301ed domain.
Main keywords for the money site, however, have not yet recovered. Still page 4/5/6.
It is worth noting that all the 301ed domain's keywords are relatively similar to the money site's keywords.

Redirecting from completely different domains to your site will not effect your rankings. You have any idea how many sites redirect to google, facebook etc?

Yes you are absolutely right, the expired domain is in the exact same niche with some very powerful backlinks (that are also within that niche).
Expired domain was on page 1 and page 2 for a lot of keywords, but these results have been directly replaced with my money site - very interesting right?
However, main keywords for my money site have yet to recover.

Made some similar experiences.
I was building backlinks (strong PBN - private one) and the keywords of my money site went down from #1-5 to #10-20.
Since then its dancing extremely. Sometimes jumping back to their original position, sometimes to page 2 or 3. I didn't experience it that hard before.
Its going be very interesting if it will settle down or when its going to settle down.

need more time to make google 100% understand that the expired domain was yours, by 301 anyway.
i think you have good one, thats mean that google most understand what you want. just wait in several days...

in my experience, i'd never use total 301 to moneysite like what you've done.
i just redirectd some page that have a good linkjuice power.
and add some content that isnt redirected to moneysite.
just need small plugin if you run on wordpress.
run another, jus fire up your htaccess.

Looks like you did your homework when it comes to checking the redirecting domain for abuse by spammers, so sit back and relax. These types of dances after a strong 301, especially if the money site is pretty new and weak so far, can take weeks, worst case even months. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is probably http://www.seobythesea.com/2012/08/google-rank-modifying-spammers-patent/ (Btw, the site a must read for anyone remotely interested in SEO.)
It's not advisable to redirect multiple domains to a money site this way, but one, especially if it's even the same or a similar niche, won't trigger any kind of penalty.

Fortunately, the money site is pretty established. Been around for several years, ranking 2nd page for many medium to high competition terms (of course prior to this particular 301).
Yes I did read something like http://www.seobythesea.com/2012/08/google-rank-modifying-spammers-patent/ before. Thought it applies more to standard links (eg. from PBNs) rather than 301s, which was why I got kinda flustered upon seeing the big movements (after the 301) and started this thread.
