Help ranking a blog

I'm just starting my blog (about a week into it) and I'm having trouble getting it ranked. I'm wondering if a more experienced member would help me out and tell me what I need to do to get it on the right track so I can do so for future blogs.

I'm looking to monetize my blogs with adsense when I get enough traffic. I also add content to my current blog quite often.

I would very much appreciate if anyone has some extra time to help.

Not to be a dick at all but use the search button, most members don't want to make a list of links when they're posted over and over and over again. Seriously just trying to help, search "best links" or "backlinks list" or something like that and do a little research. Good luck!

That is what I've been doing; I wouldn't post without using the search (been a member and staff member at that for far too long). I'm just looking for someone who may have some spare time that would like to help me out. I'm still searching and reading regardless if anyone helps out.

first of all one week is not enought time to rank.Some sites dont get indexed at one week.
If you got indexed next step is start building backlinks.
Do it everyday add more and more...and dont forget to add more content to your blog
Google loves 2 things: Unique content and good relevant backlinks

Ya, what he said. It's waaaaaay to early to get results a lot of times. SEO is a long-term thang

Alright thanks, about how long does it take to get indexed? Also, on the keyword I'm ranking for, a website with far fewer backlinks is outranking another site for the number one spot, what other factors would make that possible? (the content?)

Also, are there any free tools I should know about that would make it easier? (I'm simply using blogger)

Alright, I'll keep doing what I'm doing. How bad is a blogger domain going to affect me? (I still managed to get my keywords in it though)

Here you can thread any problem with blog rank, for rank and traffic you must be used unique content that content also helping for indexing, I will advice you firstly select keyword which you want to rank first then starting promotion step by step in off page, after few day you get better results, all promotion may be manually for good results.

You need to do SEO on your blog. Now there are two kinds of SEO: on-page SEO and off-page SEO. From here on feel free to use the search function, 'cause that's what we all do.
