Hi, I know about YouTube Video Optimization, but what about the channel? How can I rank a YouTube channel in Google? Kindly suggest some methods or directories where I can submit the youtube channel url and gain ranking for the keyword..

Just build links to it. Googe will not penalize you for sure.

building links means - blog commenting, social bookmarking, etc.. all types of off-page seo right??

i think you can use forum, social network to increase view for video.
Optimization tag, description for video.
