Straight to the point - I'm the king of procrastination and have absolutely no self-discipline. Specifically with work.

For example, today I had 12 articles to write. I ended up taking the entire day to complete this task. If i was more disciplined and avoided procrastinating, I could have completed this task within 3-4 hours.

I'm trying to figure out a way to become more driven and focused on work. I need your help BHW.

What Advice/Article/Activity/Video has helped you overcome procrastination and build self-discipline to become a more diligent person in any aspect of life?

Make sure you got no other choice.

If you're watching tv too much get out of the house.

If you're browsing Fb lock it with a tool like cold turkey or similar.

Procrastination is pretty much doing what your emotions "make" you to do. You just have to recognize it and go against your emotion.

If you can, work with someone else who wants to achieve something as well. That way you can both keep an eye on each others.

Even i face this problem. I procrastianted setting up my website by one month.can you imagine. But here is some advise

read about the pomodoro technique.there are plenty of apps for it too

Break your task into small pieces. Dont pile up the work for s3veral days then widh to do it in just one day b3cause you cant. Rather do it in small chunks daily. Here The key is consistency. The momentum you get with consistency can take you a long way

Do the important tasks first When you start out yojr day. As the day passes our will power depletes. So UTS better to do the imp. Stuff early.

Look into hypnosis,NLP or.subliminal audio. You may be best off finding a therapist/coach you.can work with though. Procrastination is horrible.

Thanks guys for your input, i really appreciate it.

I'll look into everything you've guys posted about. Its something I've been struggling with for about a year now and i'm sick of wasting time.

Its hard for me to commit to one project and stick to it for a while. For example, I'm currently working on this authority site and I've had it up for like 3 months and I only have like 60 posts. I should be at 300 by now.

Dude, you're singing my song right here. I'm trying to write this marketing piece and here I am on BHW. :) It's kinda funny but when I get banned, it helps cuz I can focus. I kinda think "thank you... I should be doing work instead of trolling." lol

I kinda make deals with myself. Finish this article and then you can go fuck around. I also have netflix on my other monitor. Strangely enough, I have been watching netflix enough while working that it kinda has me accustom to "netflix means work mode."

Also, I feel motivated after I work out. I drag more when I didn't work out in the morning.

Interesting read about why we procrastinate.
Personally, I've been cutting out all of my instant gratification activities one by one.
Slowly training my monkey to stay in his damn cage, so to speak

I have had the same stupid problem and I do still have problem with my lifestyle. The thing I do now is write down the tasks based on their importance, and also write down the time it would take to complete them. That generally takes care of the problem with procrastination. Lifestyle/discipline? I am not sure how I am gonna achieve it lol.

The way I get it done is by forcing myself to just do it before I even give myself a chance to relax. I also work for 50 mins take a 10 min break every hour.

Dude, you have got it easy!

I have got a massive urge to write a shit load of content for my money site, and make a boat load of money. It sounds weird to say, considering the amount of action I take, but I do have the mindset of a successful person. I know EXACTLY what it takes, but somehow, I spend most of my day sat on my ass watching Big Bang Theory haha .. Today I have only written 1 article! :(

I think it's because I am comfortable at the minute. Theres no 'need' to break out and do anything crazy, but I know that I have to if I want to succeed.

Wiz, thanks for this - I'm checking it out now. I appreciate the share :)

Gogol, I appreciate you talking about writing items down of importance, I should try this.

hmmm... you work in a Pomorodo style. I should try this out. Thanks for the useful information :)
Hell yeah, It's definitely a bad habit I picked up from making enough to feel "comfortable". I've been trying to find my drive and motivation ever since then, been a rough 3 months. I've become such a pile of shit lol.
