I have been advertising on Uk Gumtree some watches not fake but have had no joy then all of a sudden I get two in a day. I requested payment through paypal only to have the funds held for 21 days. i have also noticed that the delivery address is nigeria what do I do next I am conerned about being scammed

When you see the address = Nigeria, RUN FOR THE HILLS!

100% scam

not sure how nigeria isnt banned from the internet yet

Simple. Don't ship until 21 day hold is released.

they have requested a tracking code for the order so they will release the funds

Don't send the watches.
There's a chance of 99.99999999999% (hell, 100%) that it's scam.

No way would I ship. Refund the money and block them.
100% you get hit with a chargeback from paypal after shipping.

paypal is now shit I will not use them again what are the alternatives

I'd send them an email and tell em "order will be shipped when cash payment received" :D

Like someone said above, run for the hills!

Email them back saying something along the lines of:

hello Mr/Mrs X,

I have recently received 3,500,000 USD from the FBI, but they are charging a fee a fee of xxx to send me the monies, hence why i am selling these. please send me the payment via western union and once i receive the monies from fbi i will send you your monies back via paypal plus the watches free! k thx bye

Are you dumb?

Its a definite scam, what you going to do ship them and cross your fingers that maybe you have a 1 in 10000000 chance of being paid, no money no watches, if they are genuine they will understand.

No need to hit thanks, I doubt you have the minerals to spell it.

no are you twat sorry rephrase that retard prick

go with your gut feeling! anytime you think something is a scam it probably is! better to be safe than sorry ;)

exactly how much are you set to loose? :)

if its a high dollar i wouldn't entertain it leaving the country you reside in!

Fuck pay pal what are the alternatives

That e-mail you posted above is a clear fake, there are spelling and grammar mistakes everywhere and the biggest giveaway is that the e-mail address is not even a Paypal address.

It's a common scam, in actuality they have not sent you any money and if you log in to your Paypal account you will not see any money from them. Pending transactions will still show in your account, though with the status "pending".

I find it ironic that Paypal's method of "protection" (21-day hold) is being used to scam sellers.
