Help Please! I was Indexed for https// instead of http// for my site... What to do?

Hello everyone,
The title says it all....I was indexed by the big G for https//mydomain.com instead of http//mydomain.com....i never realized this, i was just building backlinks to http//mydomain.com and never saw any improved in rank until today i took a critical look and found out that i have been doing backlinks to the wrong site.
When i checked site:http//mydomain.com on big G, i only found out that https//mydomain.com is indexed.
What do i do? How can i revert this? OR should i start to build backlinks to https//mydomain.com or what?
Presently, my site https//mydomain.com ranks 41 on big G, i know i can take it to first page when i figure this out.
Your contribution on this would be hight appreciated.

Ideally you want the world wide web version

It is important you redirect your non dub dub dub to the dub dub dub version as it is duplicate content, it is a pretty important thing to sort out onsite seo wise.

Currently you have triple content by the sounds of it.

Do a redirect to the dub dub dub version and build links to the dub dub dub and it will rectify its self in a short time. You can also go into webmaster tools and tell it your prefered address.

dub dub dub means the three w's. it wont let me do links.

Thanks for the contribution, How do i do the redirect. I am also thinking maybe i should start building links to the https//mydomain.com and ignore the http//mydomain.com, or do you see any implication in the long run?

You should use the full one htt including the w w w it makes life easier in the long run. i hate seeing htt/domain as well.

It all depends what sort of hosting you have on how you redirect.

I always host with companies that offer the one click redirect. You can also redirect if you have wordpress.

Other than that you need access to .htaccess which not everyone has access to.

If your not very teccy drop your host an email they are usually happy to help.
