Since mid-to-late February, pages on my website have been continuously dropping out of Google's index. Has anyone else encountered this situation?

Strangely enough, however, my website traffic and keyword rankings haven't been significantly affected; they merely experienced a brief fluctuation during Google's core update in March before fully recovering in April.

My pages are still continuously being removed by Google.:weep::weep:

Most of the removed pages are product detail pages. Google likely deemed them to be of low value.
 
First, take a look at your Google Search Console to see if there are any site errors or indexing issues reported-things like redirect problems or high indexing load from too much content getting posted daily affecting your exhausting your index debt .

The console usually explains why pages drop out of the index. Check that first, and we can troubleshoot more from there.
 
Yes, this can happen. Google sometimes removes pages it sees as low value, duplicate, or not needed in the index. If traffic is stable, it means your important pages are still ranking. Check coverage and crawl reports in Google Search Console, improve content quality, and strengthen internal linking to keep pages indexed.

I’ve seen this happen during/after core updates index churn can continue even when rankings look stable. Google sometimes prunes pages it sees as low-value, duplicate, or not worth frequent crawling, even if your main pages are fine.

One practical check: look at which pages are dropping thin, similar, or low-click pages usually go first. Improving or consolidating them often stabilizes things. Common mistake is trying to reindex everything instead of focusing on strengthening or merging weaker URLs.

Okay, I understand. I reviewed these pages, and most of them are of relatively low content quality and exhibit weak signals.

However, I have a question: why did Google choose to index it initially, but has now removed it? Does this imply that Google is reducing its crawling of my site?
 
I think this is about content quality. If you used ai based contents in your site, after some time google detects these and SEO is being dead.

The pages that were removed from the index are all product detail pages; I used AI to generate their product descriptions. However, my site's traffic does not rely on these specific detail pages. My concern is simply that a large-scale removal from the index could send a negative signal regarding the site's SEO, so I am currently attempting to rectify this situation.
 
Google is just being more selective with what it keeps indexed, especially after recent updates. If your traffic and rankings are stable, it’s usually not a major issue.
 
Yes, after the recent updates there are a lot of people who noticed weird indexing behaviour. If the traffic and rankings remain same, there are chances that the page dropped from the index are low importance or maybe duplicates. I consider content quality, internal linking and crawl budget concerns over focusing on index numbers.
 
There might be issues with the 100th anniversary copyright law; check the Lumen database.
 
happening on few of my sites too, looks like google is indexing more selectively now. if traffic and rankings are stable then i probably wouldn’t panic too much yet.
 
To keep your site indexed, you constantly need to add and adapt your content, add RSS tags, and make constant changes in semantics. Also, do not disdain to resort to advertising 5 to improve your overall search positions.
 
Yes same happening with many sites now. google removing some pages from index after updates. if traffic and rankings still okay then that is a no big issue, just check content quality and internal linking.
