HELP! Niche Research...

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to get into a few niches and since this is my first project, I want to get some advice from you guys. I wasn't sure where this post should go, so I apologize if its in the wrong place.

I've searched the site and see mixed reviews on what tools I should be using to gather monthly searches for a keyword. Should I use the Google Keyword Tool for monthly searches, word tracker, keyword discovery, or what else would you guys recommend? Word Track and Google tool have different Daily/ MOnthly search results. Which one should I be going by or is there another tool that I should be using?

Also, what number of monthly searches should I be aiming for when getting into a niche? What about competition? Do I just do a search in google and look at the number of results it shows for competition? Thats the best way to do it?

And now once I've found my niche- I want to spy on my competition and I here KeywordSpy is better than Spyfu? What about Adgooroo, how does that rank with the other 2?

I've noticed google trends and google insight are good for niche research as well, but how does these "Niche Finder" software programs work? Is it worth it to use any Niche software program? Which Niche Finding Software program would you guys recommed?

I just downloaded niche inspector from here.. A good program.First I made a research using google insight,then done some more with some online tool.Gather all of them and did a research using niche inspector. Give it a try..

Hi MaskedM., though it's a while you asked, I still think you mentioned good topics to talk about - these are the essentials where all "bring home the money" starts, isn't it.

I have good esperiances with Google Keyword Tool; compared to the others you mentioned, it ALWAYS works, its (still) free, quick, no annoying no-bot-proofing letters too often, and - finally its all about google in the end, isnt it. I never used the payed services , but some I know use some for a weekly supscription when they're in deeper-keyword research; but with lots of great *other* tools from BHW we're not really in need of ANY supcription *g*

"number of monthly searches" ...I go for the 5000 to 8000 numbers a month phrases. But it surely depends on the topic you go for.

Some *real* experts around want to join and solve those and the other questions?
