Hi,
I am a newbie blogger. I have a fashion and beauty portal which has about 100-200 visits daily. I have been working on Content and Social media for long but the visits don't seem to increase and hence no adsense income.

I have the SEO by Yoast Plugin.
I am writing 1-3 articles a day.
I have about 1600 fans on Facebook
I have done a few guest posts and listing, that get me traffic but very less.


Should I do guest blog posts?
How to build more links?


Can, the members here, help me on how can i make my beauty portal better in terms of linkbuilding, traffic and hence adsense income. Any kind of advice will be much appreciated.

the best way is to find out the blogs where your topics are discussed, and then put a comment there. If you can continue doing this you will get good output without any doubt.
No need to find the do follow blogs. just go for Blogs :)
 
Since you are in fashion and beauty niche you should hit for the social media sites. Start tumblr to post images from your niche, and the most important - START USING PINTEREST! It's the best traffic source for you! Also, you can post images from your website with watermark to sites like 9gag etc, this will drive some traffic too.
 
Hey, Thanks. I have been commenting on a lot of Fashion and beauty blogs but it seems that it is not helping. Plus, I do not get any comments on my blog too. :(
 
I am using Facebook a lot. I pin also all my posts. Pinterest is not giving me much traffic. I have not tried 9gag though. Will surely give that a try. Anything else that you think that I should do
 
I need to ask you a few question - do you provide quality and unique content? If yea, you should wait some - you will hopefully get a nice traffic soon. Do you have a mailing list? If not, do it. You can mail to people updates + tips + sometimes (NOT TOO OFTEN!) offers from your niche (bargains etc). Since you are commenting other blogs, you should make them top quality. Don't post 'great article' etc - this won't get visitors for ya. Also you can try running a contest on yours fanpage but I don't recommend to do this - % of active visitors after this wont raise alot. PM me with the URL of your blog

1. Put social connect buttons in visible place.
2. Run a newsletter (you can put a popup with the information that people using newsletter are always up to date with contests/bargain offers).
3. To be honest, you should change your theme to brighter colours (people are more likely to stay for longer).
4. You comment system/adverts don't fit into theme.
5. Make it more user-friendly. People need easy access to popular posts/archives/newsletter/rss
 
You can use FB & SU as the source of traffic. Besides that, optimize your main keywords and build quality backlinks until you reach first page of google for those keywords and help you to get traffic.
 
If you make your own content 20% of time you can use PLR Articles if you rewrite them a little.
 
you claim you are getting 100-200 visits daily, even with a very low ctr you should be getting average 1 click per day.

BUT....
Where are those "visits" coming from and what are you using to see them?
If you are getting that many visits from your server logs, then what you are really seeing is your own visits + bot traffic and the REAL traffic may be much, much lower (if any).

Look for a good stats program to see where any real people are actually coming from - are you ranking for any good keywords? maybe you could try to rank higher. Or you could look for additional related keywords to rank for.

Also look for what websites are sending you referal traffic, and maybe look at what you can do to get more traffic from that website, or from posting similar content elsewhere.

Do Social Bookmarking and Blog Commenting on your niche. You will get better Trafffic from there. But increase your Facebook fans and share the link on your fanpage you will get much more traffic from there..

I agree with futurestic06 , concentrate on Blog commenting , forum posting and social network profiles related to your niche to bring in more visitors.
 
Hey if you install a twitter plugin that tweets all your posts to your twitter account and you start building followers you will see an instant increase in the traffic. Also if you had multiple twitter accounts tweeting about your site and you built followers on all these accounts and they retweeted your tweets to their followers you would get massive traffic. But you need a twitter robot to do this.. I have a bot PM me if you need help
 
Use pinterest to increase your traffic , give more appropriate keywords and quality backlinks
