Hi,

First of all I couldn't find a completely appropriate section for this thread so hopefully this one is ok.

I have set up a website for Speed Dating for events I want to run here in Thailand. So far I've had about 10 people register for an upcoming event (I still haven't settled on the venue yet). The problem is this people have huge age differences from 16-60! I don't even know how the 16 year old or the 60 year old got to my website.

Currently I'm advertising with Facebook ads and google placement. I'm putting my banners on popular online dating websites here in Thailand and trying to convert those online daters into speed daters.

Anyway onto my problem how can effectively setup and track payments and registration to filter out those who are too old and to stop 20 men registering vs 10 women. I can just create a separate event for the old people but how can implement a system that automatically records how many male and female tickets remain?

At the minute I only have paypal setup.

Any other ideas on how to improve traffic would be appreciated! My facebook ads are getting a lot of 'likes' but I think Thai people just like clicking 'like' and it's costing me money.

Thanks in advance!

If I'm reading your question properly...
I think this is a database solution on your site. After registration is complete send them to paypal for payment.
That is not fun, Paypal is difficult to integrate from my experience.

At the minute my site is in wordpress and I'm using gravity forms (I think) to catch the registration first and then that will take them to a payment page. I just don't know how to regulate the number of men and women. For example at each event there should be 20 men and 20 women.

Here is the registration/payment flow:

Event registration - 19th June Age(21-30) -> They click the button and fill out their contact details -> They are taken to a payment page specifically for that age group and date.

If you look at this speed dating website - *link removed* (speed dater .co . uk) you can see in the upper right corner they keep track of the number of men and women that have registered.

Hope this helps clarify things.

Well, sorry, I can't help you with wordpress sites. I build everything custom.

This is probably not the best forum to ask for this kind of help... but I don't know. I new here.

FB is definitely a good way of driving traffic you might also want to do SEO for your site maybe using video marketing as a part of your strategy.

If you want to keep using wordpress, get a custom plugin built, otherwise just get a custom designed site and get a coder to make a script that sorts the registrations. After that you can select from there and send out emails with payment info.

I got the payment system sort of sorted. For those who are interested I used gravity forms with aweber and paypal plugins. It took a while to understand but it helped quite a bit. It doesn't track the stock but as speed dating is new in Thailand I don't think there will be thousands of people lining up so I need to just do it manually. Once the payment is made I can receive the email to my phone and I can make the updates from there.

Getseoonline - I got ~460 likes for my page. I paid for that advertising. So for nothing is converting. I think the problem with facebook (at least with Thai people anyway) they just like to click like.

I will be creating a video shortly, not for seo purposes but to increase credibility and help any unanswered questions they have about speed dating. I need to wait till my eye heals up first though...damn ju jitsu.

The best way would be to hire a developer and make a plugin so that you can use it for the future too.
