Good day Fellow BHWorlders, okay so straight to the point, I've avoided Reddit like a plague for years, but now I need to help my boss do some work on Reddit.

Generally I need any tip/advice I can get to help me go from Newbie to Pro, but more specifically I need help with this issue I faced recently....

So Logging into my abandoned 2 years old account, (already got 1 new account banned)...I only have 1 karma and did try to make a couple post in some NSFW subreddits, under my profile you can see that those posts were made, but checking in the communities my posts are non-existent, under my profile it shows that there's no activity (not even views) on any of the posts, today's the 3rd day and no sign of improvement, could this be shadow banning, if it even exists on Reddit.

Please I'd appreciate all the help I can get

It might be because your posts aren't getting approved by the mods of the subreddit. Since as a mod of a subreddit there is an option to approve/reject the posts.

Did you check the notification tab of your account. Any notification there?

Oh, I didn't know that, thanks...I had to check my notifications again, I've got no notifications, just welcome messages from the communities I joined

Posts are getting automatically removed either by reddit's sitewide spam filters or by the subreddit's automod filter.

Don't start creating posts with 1 Karma. Most will get removed, in most subreddits. Start participating normally, contributing, just doing what a normal real user would do. If you do this on a regular basis, you will start getting Karma. After around 200 karma you can start creating posts.

Also, 2 years of inactivity followed by a very active behavior through the creation of posts is highly suspect and can lean to shadown bans.

Thanks for this, and yes I agree with you an extended period of inactivity followed by very active behavior would be a red flag even to me too...

I'll take your advice, be a normal user, contribute to the community and hopefully get through this while also getting familiar with the platform, once again thanks for this

Oh, but if that's the case... wouldn't I get any notification informing me about the removal? Or Reddit just doesn't do that

For moderator, and subreddits auto mods you would get a message and removal reason.
For regular reddit anti spam filter you will not receive any message.
Your post would appear good to you, but no one will see it. You can check if anyone can see your post by going on the subreddit and sorting by new in incognito (without being logged into account), if your post exists you are good, if not then it was removed by anti spam filter.

There are certains sub reddits that need a certain ammount of karma before leaving a comment or certain types of comments are allow, that will depend on each subredit, try comenting on a few other post so you can get more karma is a slow process but unfortunately they do it to avoid spam.

I tried doing this in incognito mode, my post don't exist, sucks...I even tried creating original post on different random forums, same thing.

Yeah, I'm beginning to understand that this could be a Karma thing, currently up from 1 to 17 karma, i'mma try to get it over 200, hopefully by then all this wouldn't be an issue anymore

you are working fast, no, once you get enough karma you should be able topost, also take in consideration the rules of the subredit about posting links, self promoting and all those things.

Yeah I know, currently I'm avoiding any type of post that would require me to post any sort of links whatsoever, just sticking to either adding value to the community or asking a question... We'll see how it goes, or btw thanks again, I appreciate the help

Yeah try out different accounts, or posting methods or subreddits and see what works the best!
Try younger/older accs with some karma etc. In your case karma is needed probably for accounts.

You need to know what amount of karma is necessary to be able to publish in each subreddit, since this varies from subreddit to subreddit... when you know this and have the required amount of karma in each of your accounts you will be able to publish without problems.

There are 3 main things that relate to your issues:
1) Many links are automatically filtered as spam by reddit across the entire website
2) Many subs automatically filter posts by new accounts or accounts with little karma
3) Many subs have rules set up to stop people like you doing what you want

The issues of #1 and #2 are the easiest to solve. Use your account like a normal person and you will build up karma on it. Cloak the link if still not showing up.

Number 3 sometimes you can message the mods to get your posts approved, but usually you just have to search for a different subreddit to try.

Don't bother trying to spam NSFW subs with a new account with low karma. Waste of your time and effort.

Try to "warm up" your account first, 1kam is really not that good, you can go to some interesting boards and post to increase your kam
