Help needed with Google.

Hi guys,

I keep running against a wall when it comes to high position in google.
For a keyword that has 8 550 000 search results in google I have the 4th place in msn, and in yahoo I am 5th but in google Im not even in the top 20 pages.

I know they havent deindexed me.:D

I have the same problem with my other sites, I may be 1st in msn but knowhere in google so I must be missing something important.:confused:
If someone is willing to help I will tell what Ive been doing so far and maybe you got some ideas.:cool:

I had a client who has a real estate website with the same problem, we increased there backlinks with keyword anchor text and there site started to move up in the SERP's. Not saying this will be the cure all for your site as I would need to see what it is your are currently doing, but it is something you can look into.

Hi Steve,

I dont think backlinks are the problem, I have thousands of pagges linking to my site with my keywords. I also have an automated trackback submitter that submittes .edu trackbacks.
It has to be something else, maybe the quality of the links, but I dont know how to increase that.
 
This is one thing that sucks with Google, they play puppet master with your website whenever the hell they want to. You say thousands of sites, but are they real sites that have value or just a bunch of directories, FFA, link farms, etc?

They are mainly PR 0 sites with low value, alot of forum posts.
 
msn does not have a sandbox, while in yahoo the new websites rank well the firs 3-4 weeks and afterwards are thrown in the yahoo sandbox, which is anyway shorter in period than the one from google.

You may be right, but if the website is newly created i think my question still holds.

What do you mean by getting close to any google assets? Like orkut and google blog?
