I have been in the same boat the only seemingly reliable ressource i could find was reviewsignaldotcom based on the messages twitter followers leave on the hostercompany stream they analyze the amount of positive / negative messages .. other review sites are just having next to no reliable information and just spam you with an afilliate link.

For the domain just buy it on namecheap or godaddy.
I personally prefer namecheap just because they arent upselling you extra stuff as bad as godaddy and in the long run they are cheaper

It's actually really simple and not sure if that's some shameless advertising or not but there are much more trustable and dependable sites to go with. GoDaddy for one, with it's incredible customer service and lack of drops in uptime is a lovely choice. However if you want something cheaper to register a domain and host then I'd go with HostGator. They have decent customer service but feel a bit smaller than GoDaddy but it's all the same ish.

    This post made me LOL.

He's read *a* post. Way to go. That's some hardcore research right there. Has no domain and needs WP installed. So basically, he has nothing and wants to make money with nothing.

Never used it let alone heard of it, I'd go with something more reputable than that but that is my personal opinion.
