Help Needed: My YouTube Shorts Channel Losing Subscribers & Views

Hi everyone,
I need some advice regarding my YouTube channel. Around April 2025, I had 1 lakh subscribers, but then I stopped posting content from may and deleted many of my old videos.
Since june, I started posting regularly again, mostly YouTube Shorts, but instead of gaining subscribers, my count is dropping — now I’m at 98.3k. Earlier, my videos used to get up to 1M views, but now even 1k views is hard to get.

I want to understand:

1. Why are my subscribers decreasing even though I post consistently now?
2. Why are my Shorts not getting views like before?
3. How can I regain lost subscribers and restore my views?

Any tips, strategies, or similar experiences would be really appreciated!

its kinda hard to give advice if we dont know what are your videos about, what's your niche? it could be your niche got too saturated, could be the quality of your shorts, and other factors

check on the last upload where the subscribers start getting low to delete and examine with new upload thumbnail and hashtags for more subscribers and views.

Deleting old videos kills your channel algorithm boost. Repub archive content as regular videos instead!

It's hard to tell, but if I had to guess since you haven't posted for a while, the people who were interested in your videos back then might not be interested in that topic anymore.
It could be video quality, frequency of posts, irrelevance to the main topic you had back in main, or the "hype" for that certain topic has died and people moved on.

Keep on grinding, if the video quality matches the older videos and the topic is still relevant, most likely you'll climb back up.

Maybe perhaps you need to create long form video once per week with your original voice just to make sure YouTube does not think you are some automated bot

The main reason is most likely that your channel lost momentum signals after you stopped posting and deleted many older videos. When that happens, YouTube has to understand your audience again from the beginning, and this usually causes both subscriber loss and a serious drop in views. Many inactive subscribers also unsubscribe over time, especially after a long break, so that part is normal.

For Shorts, posting consistently alone is not enough. If the first seconds are not strong enough, retention drops, and YouTube stops pushing the video very quickly. That is why a channel that once got 1M views can suddenly struggle to reach even 1k.

The best thing you can do now is stop deleting more content, stay in one clear niche, improve your first 1–2 second hook, and give the algorithm time to reconnect your videos with the right audience. If your old content style worked before, trying to return to that structure can also help. Your channel is not dead, but after the break and deletions, it needs time and consistency to rebuild momentum.

When you delete an old video and upload a new one, the content of the new video may not match the content of the old video, resulting in a loss of views and followers.
