Help, my Dev stole my website and database

Question for you all. I had an employee that helped work on my job board website which included database for about a year now and we parted ways a couple of weeks ago, which I thought was on good terms. Well last night I found out he started a new website with 350 of my clients and my database of 25k emails targeted to the clients and is using the job board license I purchased and is sending emails to all my clients for half the price. I know this because my client forwarded the email to me (email marketing which I came up with)

IN no way does he have any ownership to the job board, resumes and clients info and I am trying to use a cease and desist on him but wanted to see if anyone here had any tips.

I am so irate I want to beat the living shit out of this scumbag.

Any help/tips are greatly appreciated.

Depending on where you are, get the cops involved.

A lot of jurisdictions take the theft of intellectual property very seriously. A ride to the local police station in the back of a squad car is much scarier than a cease and desist.

Bonus points if you can get the FBI or someone like that involved, and get them to confiscate all his computer equipment pending investigations.

ruin the guy.. get an attorney, and I'm guessing you know all his detail so sue him out of the water.

Send him an email telling him to cease and to pay a penalty.

I'd not even talk to the guy, directly involve a lawyer.

keep your hands clean and don't try anything in retaliation that could bring any sort of case against you. Go at him fast and hard.. it sounds like he's costing you enough money and business to justify hiring a very good lawyer.

Well it looks as if I dont have a case against him per my lawyer since our partnership wasnt documented correctly. So I am out 1,000's of dollars and someone emails my clients and giving them job postings for half the cost. As of this point I trust no one, because the good ones have screwed me over the most.

So now, I am trying to think of some great ways to get back at his piece of shit company. Possible article submission on theft pointing back to his site?

If he was your partner, I would think he has as much right to the database as you. Sorry.
