Help me with Viral Campaigns

Hi guys,

I have been trying to break into the viral campaigns of facebook as it seams to still be working, but im having a hard time to get it going, dont know if im missing something or what.

So what I basically want to do - make airplane, holiday, iphone6 page go big, so i can sell them email submits later.

What I have done this far

1) Create an ad and cloak it to my jump page where people share it
2) They share a post that is similar to the original ad and actually has around 7-9% Post Engagement (last time my post had 28k reach and 2k engagements) - this is good I think?
3) People now clicking on those shared posts will get redirected to jump page again, to grow even more shares - I found that my jump page has share ratio of 1 share to 5 visits and was shared 920 times
4) I tried it by growing the jump page to the level where there was 50 people on the site at each time (according to whos.amung - hidden) from FB shares, not paid ads
5) Switched all this momentum to my "legit" looking fan page, with a sign up button and people actually started to share the post and etc and sign up buttons made me money etc, but I got around 350 likes to the fanpage and 430 shares and the traffic dies (as I closed ads)

So i can say it didnt go viral and I spent a shitton on ads.

What would you do or change? I think it has the potential to go viral, as my test for example received 50 comments, but only 2 were negative. Should I just buy more and more traffic in a short timeframe to get it viral - atm 920 shares was for a two day time period, i should buy more traffic to get all this down to few hours? Or I should buy enough traffic to receive few thousand shares?

Any ideas or maybe im missing something?

Obviously what ever you're sharing is not of value to people.

Find a way to give them something they want.... something they otherwise would be willing to pay money for... give the for free and you should go viral with your method.

im sharign the free iphone 6s and heaps of cash and they are interested or you think the conversion rates are too low? Like 1 share per 5 visits is low? But the post attracts attention - 7-9% engagement ratio is good or its low aswell?

content is the key when it comes to viral marketing. Also; FB viral videos are mostly the videos made for entertainment purpose. I don't think your video or your post is entertaining people!

Yes, i believe that the content is key and etc, but doesnt anyone remember the share to unlock etc viral campaigns anymore?

One out of five people are sharing my content, which isnt bad I believe, does anyone know any data regarding viral content share vs website visitors?

it is a blackhat campaign and im just wondering if it would work if id throw tons of traffic on it with the same 1 share vs 5 visitors ratio and eventually attract enough visitors to get liftoff?

900 shares = 28 000 reach = 2200 engagement so the interests is there, it just seams for me that im not gaining them fast enough and thats why I needed help.

PS! I also witnessed a similar campaign running few days ago, kind of same layout as mine, so its possible, but I have no idea regarding traffic source

First off if its working when your advertising and seeing a roi, why would you ever stop advertising in the first place? Keep the ads going as long as you can and as fast as you can.

Problem is that the roi is negative, i earned some money back, but the traffic dies fast, as its not viral. Atm I spent around 600$ to get back 300$.

Im just wondering if - more traffic in a short term would be better than same amount divided to two or three days. Does anyone have an idea regarding this?!

I just think you're problem is not your traffic, I think the problem is what you are giving them is not enticing them enough.

You can send more traffic in 1 day, but I think you'll still end up with the same ROI.

Any ways... test and let us know your results.


BTW... with regards to the data.... you need each person that shares your app to at least bring 1 new person for your thing to go viral. If each person that is sharing your content is not bringing in at least 1 new person that also shares your content then you won't go viral.
