Take a look at the following amazon sellers for example:

    ojcommerce
    cymax
    store123

what they do on amazon, is basically just list high selling items at a hefty markup.

search some major furniture item in amazon to see them in sellers. (couldn't attach link :( )

    they have TONS of feedback.
what i'm struggling to understand is their marketing method, because i'm sure they get absolutely 0 sales for just listing it as it is, and more luring and honeytrapping is required to get sales when you're marking the price up 20-30-50-70% above the buy box price (which is usually sold by amazon itself).
these guys are not idiots, i've read articles on cymax selling $150 million on 2015. still, i don't understand how they get these listings to sell.

please share any insights you might have on this subject.
    Thanks

I guess they are making most of their sales on items where they do have the buy box. OJCommerce, for example, has the buy box on all their top selling items on their profile. The rest of the products won't sell that often imo.

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you know what this seller's top sellers are?

I simply searched for OJCommerce on Amazon and clicked on their profile on a item they offered. I can't find the site I was looking at yesterday on my mobile right now, but here is the list of OJCommerce bestsellers:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/b/A3K90JHFOGRITA

As you see, the items that have the "bestseller" tag are all offered for the cheapest price by OJConmerce.

    That's the interesting/tricky part.

let's take the first product in the link you sent, ASIN B004INDQWY.
you see ojcommerce in the buy box at $51.64. but search amazon for that ASIN and you'll see the buy box is actually owned by amazon itself for the price of $39.95.

the thing is, if you browse products through the seller you'll always see only the seller in the listing.

so, coming back to my original question - how are these guys marketing their inferior listings? amazon affiliates? fb ads? adwords?

may be just a luck ?? LOL sorry, as you know most of customer have no time to do comparation, sometime if the item from the winner buybox has been soldout, the seller who 2nd rank will win the buybox
