I think first you need to decide who you really want to go after. If your goal is to attract buyers, then the bulk of your marketing efforts should be targeted toward that persona. You can always advertise freelance opportunities on Craigslist or similar sites. If you want buyers to take notice, you have to develop a content strategy around that persona. For instance if your target market is solo marketers involved in web marketing, you would want to develop content aimed at that market and share it in channels that they are active on.
I would start by developing personas for who it is you are targeting,

Yes, You are right dude. @OP, Gaining traffic is meaningless if you are not able to keep your visitor's attention.
