Main domain of the subdomain, that is 2.0 link main domain sites have more authority. So I think this will help to get rank at least on the 4th page. For your main site, you need to improve the authority by building links on high authority sites. Maybe Guest post will help to get rank quickly if the link is placed in high authority guest posting blogs.
