You can start buy purchasing some traffic from reputable members here. That will be a good first step in helping to increase your ranking.

I have replied to this one so many times that I am thinking its time to put together a WSO.
Lowering your alexa ranking is easy: install the Alexa toolbar on your PC and leave your site on all day.
Do this for a week and you will see your alexa drop to 7-9 million.
Run Firefox and Explorer on your pc at the same time have the toolbar on both same method...Within 10 days sub 1 million.
If you can fo this with a spare laptop then you can keep driving it down to 300,000-500,000
Its only when it gets into the top 100,000 is Alexa even vaguely accurate

You need more traffic. Research about the cheapest ways of driving traffic to a website, email marketing works best for me.

I don't see how leaving your site on all day with one computer would help unless you had randomly generated ips and proxies on auto surf. maybe I missed something?

I've done it 50 sites over the last three years and it works so you have the Duffers guarantee of effectiveness !
Now if I was going to examine the Alexa data it would show that website.com is popular in this area(of my IP)...so if you want a bit of diversification you can team up with 2-3 worldwide friends on BHW and do a share..
Its not a perfect method but if you want your website to show sub 1 million this works fast.
And my thoughts on traffic ? Alexa is really pretty dumb..It can only track traffic that has an alexa toolbar or widget in its content so one million hits without this and it will not affect your alexa rank in the slightest.

I dont know much about auto reload....I just have the website that I want to promote set as my homepage on Explorer......I open that in the morning and the minimize Explorer and run all the stuff I need to do on Firefox...Dont even notice it is there but within 2 weeks my Alexa rank will tumble
