Hi all,
I need your help and suggestions, please!
Which domain is better do you think or from your experiences:

TutsLib.com or TutorialsLibrary.com ?

(The domain TutorialLibrary is a Premium domian in Godady so I can't buy it for $2400 :()
I want to build a tutorial site (an authority long-term site, not an auto blog or micro site). Please help me to decide which domain should I take.
Thank you so much!

depends on your keyword and targeted traffic
if your keyword is
Tutorials Library or Tutorial Library
then go for
TutorialsLibrary.com

Not many people search for "Tutorials Library", so I don't target for this key word. I target for long tail keywords in my pages, I will create many pages /posts for Photophop, CSS, PHP tutorials,...

Any other points are highly appreciated!

Thanks.

tutslib.com. It sounds more brandable. Thinks net tuts and tuts plus.

There's not much advantage in EMD anymore.

I'd go for tutslib then if you're not targetting the keyword anyways. (It's easier to type, that's why hehe)

And audioguy, is this really true?

Been only reading on these forums here that it is better to get an EMD if you can and fits your keyword.

Doesn't really matter, EMD is rather controversial. Still helps out a little bit, but not as much as it used to or so I've heard. Many people choose the "brand-able domain" route nowadays.

I wouldn't pay 2400 for a domain, unless it's already making double the money before I get it.

What I would do is, work your way around the name until you can come up with something.

Personally, I wouldn't register tutslib.com either. I'm sure you can come up with something better, especially if you're looking for something long term that you want to brand.

Maybe, TutorialsOnline.com, Tutorials.com, iTutorials.com I can come up with a few off the top of my head.

Lol, I could be a dick and register a few good ones and sell it to you, but I want you to do good.

Oh and BTW, most people say EMD's are no longer good. They ARE, I have reason to believe they still carry a positive influence in ranking. But besides that, EMD's are also a good way to brand a niche. People are more likely to click on a website link that has the niche in the URL (as long as it sounds professional) versus one that sounds completely irrelevant.

-Best of luck

Well, they might, but not as much for it to really make the difference anymore. Still, you're right about EMD's still being very good in terms of brandability, so everyone should still go for them, but not for the same reasons they used to.

Yes, I agree with you, I would never pay a big money for a premium domain since I'm not owning a big Team or a big company that can afford the premium one. I have searched for some best domains for tutorials site but most of the best ones like you suggested are already taken, so it comes up to me with the domain Tutorials Library or or short one TutsLib or TutsLibrary. I'm still not deciding which one to take yet. Some suggest for TutsLib and some say the longer one is better. I think each domain has its advantage and disadvantage. So it is still hard to decide. I will look for some more other ideas and make my final decision.
Thanks for your replies!

True. Out of these I'd go for "Tutorials Library", because "TutsLib" doesn't make any god damn sense to me.

What About TutsLibrary.com - might not be a premium domain, makes sense and is very brandable.

EDIT: Oh just saw this was already suggested, my bad on the extra post.

I would go with TutsLib. Looks better for branding and you can put the $2400 towards SEO and etc.

If you are branding a product / authority site the exact match becomes less relevant although they still rank.
Personally I am not fond of either name, brand names do not need to be related to your niche at all, they just need to
be easily typed and memorable in some way.
There are plenty of generic 6 and 7 letter domains for sale, I use domainnamesoup (.) com to brainstorm for names.
Plus if you are ok spending some money why not buy an aged domain with some PR and back links to make it easier to rank.
Just my thoughts, good luck.
