Ok so, please, I need your help.

A guy emailed me wanting to buy my domain, he made a ridiculously high offer so I was skeptical.

Long story short..

I asked him to make a decision before the end of the day, he replied "Oh I'm interested but I'm not going to buy it just obtain it off you xx"

Now I'm freaking out. I don't have private Whois or nothing, he has access to all my details, address etc. I haven't taken any security precautions AT ALL.

Can somebody point me in the right direction of how to deal with this? I'm begging you.

You have nothing to worry about even though he has access to your address and real name it doesn't mean he can really do anything to you with them. If he had your social security number then it would be a real problem.

The most he can do is send you stuff through the mail and call your telephone.

Prince Visi hit the nail on the head. No genuine businessman/woman would say something so stupid, they'd have the money if they actually cared.

Actually, when you reply to him again make sure the IP is in the same range, but different. And make sure you change it for yourself unless you have a dynamic one, ask your ISP if need be. Don't deal with people like this from your own IP, not advisable.
The net isn't nice, be prepared and don't underestimate people. You should wear a condom and private whois would be a good start. Also, start checking your router logs. He can't easily just take the domain from you, but with a bit more preparation nothing is impossible. Also don't click links, doesn't matter what kind of protection you have running.
The above is not something I would do, but lets say defcon is educational.

Good luck. :)
