Hi, I have been on the forums for a months, and just started posting, today I decided to take some action and to make my own website, I have been following EdgeMatch's $5 is enough guide, which is very good, and I have bought a domain on GoDaddy and hosting from stablehost, I have redirected the nameservers from StableHost to my domain on godaddy, and installed wordpress using the StableHost control panel. When I go to my website, I just see the default godaddy parked domain page, and im not sure if i have to do anything else. I read somewhere that nameserver changes can take a while? if someone could shed some light on this for me, as I am new to this, it would be much appreciated :)

nameserver changes do take a while depending on the quality of your webhost and how responsive they are.
and it really should be you pointing your domain to your webhost, as in login to your domain account, and under the nameservers for your domain you input your webhost's IP.
go to GoDaddy's help site look for article [h=1]Setting Nameservers for Your Domain Names[/h]hope this helps.

Yes, i changed the nameservers on my godaddy domain host, so now it is just a matter of time? thanks.

Hey,

Just wanted to let you know you'r not the first one with that question (been there done that), since you haven't updated yet i think that it's done now but if not, here's my 2 cents on the subject:

You'r hosting provider can have great prices, great costumer support plus a pair of boots, all that matters is if they know what they are doing like mentioned by apocrypha.

From my (little) experience almost no Hosting company can guarantee you that it's done in less than 24h BUT they usually are.

If you have taken all the steps correctly with goDaddy and you still don't have it working, let us know, there might be something wrong with your registration, DNS setup or even hosting provider (I've never worked with them, this is just an uneducated guess) .

Hope everything is working by now,

Cheers
