I have come to the conclusion that I just don't have
programming skills. I read and read but just get brain
burn out without understanding.

I purchased the license for WinRar, but after reading
the directions, I still don't know how to install this
license. My WinRar free trial will be up in 5 days.

I can build websites, but when it comes to installing
cracks and licenses, I just come up blank after
reading directions.

Could someone please help me get this WinRar license
installed before the time is up?

Is this a joke? You are a Jr. VIP with a 14 rep and you are asking a question about a WinRAR license?

Registration is not required and the program will continue to work. To enter your license, open the project and go to Help and click Register. That will allow you to put in your information.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for your advice.

I got a 14 rep by sharing things that members can use. Anyone
can do that who is dedicated. Being a Jr. VIP does not mean
that I know everything.

Just so happens that installing licenses and cracks is my weakness
just like Cryptonite is the weakness of the powerful Superman.

Once the trial period is over, you can still run WinRar, but with
what seems to be viruses or adware. I would get ads popping
up all over the place. In other words, WinRar wants it's money
or else.

I am unable to locate this place to Register that you mentioned
by going to "Help". I see Help, but there is not Register to
click on.

I am willing to pay some one to help me take care of this.

Hi Sharer.

For non-techies, WINRAR can be a pain is the a$$ to register.

Simply follow these steps to register it:

  1. Find the licence file you received after purchasing WINRAR
  2. click on it once to turn it blue (highlighted) and on your keyboard, hold CTRL and tap C to copy it to the clipboard
(You wont see anything happen but trust me...)
  3. Go into Windows explorer (hold windows key and hit E)
  4. browse through to the following path -
    C:\program files\winrar
  5. Once in the Winrar directory, hit CTRL and V. This will paste your licence file into the WINRAR directory.
  6. Run the program and should you have followed the steps correctly, it should now be fully registered with your details and no more popups!
Any problems, let me know,

Paul.

http://www.7-zip.org/

Free, integrates with Explorer (adds a right click menu that lets you extract files/compress files, etc.), handles zip/rar/gz/bz2 etc.

:)

Viruses and adware just because of expired Winrar trial? No shit, but this is funny. Winrar just pops up a little window every time you open it saying that you need to purchase it. Nothing else. No ads, no nothing.

Thanks sickofwhitehat, The timebomb has stopped ticking.

Paying for a license is worth stopping the aggravation of any
kind of pop-up. Whether it be an ad pop-up or reminders
popping up to get the license.

It had been doing it for 2 years and the only way to stop it
was to wipe my memory clean and reboot., giving me
another 45 day trial period before it would start again.

I finally got enough of it and decided to purchase a license.

Thanks again. :)
