Help me - I have a job interview

Hello BHW!

I recently sent an application for an SEO Specialist position in an agency.

The application was done through an online form where I had to pass a technical test.

They have called me yesterday telling me that they liked my answers to the test and we scheduled an interview for next Tuesday.

The interview is going to be divided into two parts, a 1-hour technical test and a 1-hour interview.

My weak point is going to be the 1-hour technical test which I expect to be fairly difficult.

I still consider myself an SEO newbie and I wanted to know if any of you already went a similar recruiting process.

In any case, which topics would you recommend I should study in depth?

mmm if they have at least one person who knows SEO and you don't then its going to be really hard..
I suggest you practice online do a few SEO tests on websites like SEMRUSH so you can familiarize yourself with questions they might be asking.. But it all depends on the type of company you are interviewing with

You first need to analyze the agency and see how 'good' their SEO knowledge is. Is the agency specialized in SEO? Why are they looking for such a specialist? Which companies are their clients?

When you are doing an interview you need to make a deep research to know what are you dealing with (knowing that, you will get your answer for the question).
 
To me, tf you are being called in to an interview, that is a good sign. In my 9-5 we often review resumes and then interview people who have a decent to thorough understanding of SEO and WebDevelopment, but end up being total a-Holes. As a result, we look for people who have the basic skills required for the position, but more importantly are trainable and eager to learn.

The ones who have the skills, are not personable, and act like they already know everything end up being the most difficult to work with.

Sounds cliche but having the right balance of a good personality and technical skills will go a long way. Well, at least where I live it does.

I 100% agree with you on this but I have to admit I would feel much more comfortable having refreshed/updated my technical SEO knowledge. It seems to be quite a big agency with offices throughout the country. I have been reading backlinko articles all day, I think this should help but will it be enough? That remains to be seen...

Concentrate more on personality level not on technical.Reliable person means everything.This is your biggest tallent.For technical aspects hold on the answers you give in the form,because about 80% come from there.How and why you answer this question on this way.Most important dont lie ,tell the true about you and your skils.
