Help me find out a pricing model for my backlinking service

Hey everyone, I'm somewhat new in all about SEO and link building, so I would like to ask you to help me find out a fair price for a specific backlinking service for a client that is very interested.

I've recently became owner of 100 websites that are distributed in 30 different hosting providers (in other words, 30 different IPs). These are real websites, all in the Car Rental, Sales & Review industry. Some of them are very well ranked, some other aren't.

There's one major car rental service in the United States that is interested in having backlinks to their website and they contacted me to know how much I'd like per month to give them backlinks from all of my network.

To be completely honest with you guys, I have no clue on how to price this service. I'm trying to make money with the websites by using AdSense, but now there's this new opportunity and I don't know how much to charge. I don't even know what to consider to come up with a fair price. I don't know if the backlinking power of my network is worth $500 or $10,000.

So, how should I come up with a pricing model for this? What would be fair and what should I consider when giving a price?

Take the amount of traffic it'd generate, multiply by the adsense CPM and by 2 or 3x multiple. That'd be a starting point IMO.

Thanks for your reply. You say that I should "take the amount of traffic it'd generate", but how can I possibly know that information? I'm pretty sure these websites will give a decent boost for my client in terms of ranking. He's fluctuates between first and second page for a variety of keywords that my websites would backlink. With that he might even get into the top 3 for multiple keywords which would bring a huge amount of organic traffic, but as far as I know (and remember, I'm new at this) there's no way I can know the amount of traffic I would generate to him.

You can't sell rankings, because you simply cannot guarantee or deliver it. You can only sell ad space based on impressions or clicks.

Another option is to determine a price using MOZ DA.

As long as you're selling links to transmit the authority, it makes sense.

For example

DA 0-10 - 10-30 bucks/month
DA 10-20 - 50 bucks/month
DA 20-30 - 70 bucks/month
DA 30-40 - 100-150 bucks/month
etc

But it's obvious that sites that already have good rankings are the most valuable part of your offer. It would be fair to make them more expensive.

Before thinking about prices, I hope you have your excuses ready about why their rankings stagnate or suffer. If you don't know what you're doing, test your SEO services on websites that you own.

The Moz DA price is the obvious one, but it sounds to me like they don't know what they're doing or want. To understand the value of your network ,I would do a thorough audit using tools such as Ahref and SEMrush - then look at what other people are selling similar links for in the marketplace here.

Usually, if you're looking at Ahref DR 50+ go for around $150/200 each. Anything below you're looking at $50. If its a really big property, Ahref DR 90+ you can charge up to $500.

But remember, these independent metrics aren't everything. You need to also take into account how well known and lucrative the site is (in demand) and the difficulty ni getting a link on there.

Your network is probably not worth much and for PBN type links i wouldn't pay more than $15-35 each.

Thank you SicarioPBN and Kuz32 for the thoughtful comments. This gives me a very good starting point. I just bought access to Ahrefs so I hope to do some audit of each website and understand how they're placed. I already tested the biggest five (in terms of visits) and they're above 50 DR, the higher being 61. Just a minority of the websites are PBN (review websites) so I guess that helps. I will check the other websites later today. So there's really no difference in terms of pricing (in your point of view) between a DR 5 and DR 45?

Also, very good idea to see people selling similar links in the marketplace here in blackhatworld. I hope someone is selling in the same industry so I can have another reference.

That's probably the case. I've been talking to some business and they all act like they understand everything about SEO, but they really don't. I consider myself really a beginner in SEO and it's clear to me that they don't understand much of the basic stuff. I guess this is kind of a good opportunity to me.

Well, their rankings don't suffer. They might stagnate because there's currently no working being done to increase their ranks (I'm a developer fixing the websites' code right now), but I mean, it's not realistic to simply assume a website can go up in the ranks indefinitely, even more by a guy like me who's just getting started. It's not like it's super easy to get ranked in top 3 for "car rental" in California. But thanks for the comment.
