Help me find a laptop

Heya guys,

Just wanna post this before I go to school...

I need a nice (cheap) laptop, I have around 500 euro's to spend and, if my sites go the right way, a little more
I was thinking about buying a second-hand Macbook but those are to expensive even second hand...

Can you get a link to a nice, cheap, laptop or do you know some1 that is selling em or w/e, PM me! I need one...
Macbook prefered but anything is cool

Yeh I need to either get a lot more money for that OR I need to buy a cheaper one...

Well if you can save for the Macbook, go for it. If I could get my hands on Bill gates......grrr. Vista hogs resources and the more recent laps only come with vista. My Lap is less than a year old and I have already had to re-install everything, my fan turns on too much and I don't store hardly anything on here, it's all dumped onto my external.

But one probably will say "oh but I'll just uninstall it and put XP on it" Nope. Can be done but a royal pain - as alot of the components (that need drivers) don't "do" xp, they are specifically targeted to use vista. basically forcing you to keep it. been there, done that. Sooooo not fun.

I'd do a Mac next time if I get a chance. Used them where I used to work for years and they never froze on me or went wack.

You can get the money, just keep thinking outside the box on how to get the extra $500 or so. betcha can!

Acer Aspire 1, only 8.9 inches, but I love it. Portable, windows xp and only $348 US at wally world

buy a good laptop (don't worry about os) and just put both mac and windows on it. Use mac for all your important files, and for anything that you can run on mac (because it's more reliable) and whenever you need to (for games, or blackhat apps) use your windows partition.

I have a toshiba on ebay with 1.5 gigs of memory, 120 gig hard drive, windows xp (its the best), dvd-rw, wireless, and duo core centrino I believe 1.6 or 1.8 on ebay and I can do it for that price or maybe a little less. Let me know if you want to see the link, pm me or something. I have a storefront in southern california and I can ship it out priority.

@kleg - how is that Acer 'netbook' running?

They look cool but I want something I can do a lil more (IM) then just surf the net. Does it handle everything you do pretty well?

I wanna get something cheap just to work on and hopefully earn enough to get the full mac package, iMac, Macbook Air, and iPhone....

@styles- this little netbook runs great does everything i need it to do, don't run too many large pros other than open office, it's slow to start but after it's up runs great, same way with phot shop.
