As the gaming won't be your main thing, I would choose ASUS between your options.

If you can save and go up more, MS surface series are looking brilliant. My next laptop is going to be MS, it's already decided but still happy with my 3 years old DELL at the moment.

Hi, which one did you get in the end? How is it? Looking for a fast windows laptop around 1k.
But I think 16GB and i7 are necessary to run smoothly
