Help! Manually can't see ranking. Webmaster shows OK!?!?!

Hi. Hope I can get some input.

I was ranking for a strong and competitive keywords for over 1.5 years. All of the sudden I noticed many but not all drop to the 2nd and 3rd page of Google. Yet webmaster shows them still on first page. What gives??? Did this ever happen to you ??

Any input greatly appreciated!

It might help to clarify by "I was ranking for a strong and competitive keywords for over 1.5 years. All of the sudden I noticed many but not all drop to the 2nd and 3rd page of Google."
Is this a 'sudden' change from competitors? were you ranking the entire 1.5 years? sorry for the lack of actual answers...
 
You could have been lowered in the index by the panda crew in which case one way of climbing back up is to get some good new unique and original content published and add in the keywords for phrases that have dropped down the index

Good luck from the info you posted in the OP sounds like you should recover beeause you have only dropped 2 to 3 pages!

Sorry I wasn't clear. I get lazy typing on the iPhone.

Yah I was ranking this one keyword for 1.5 years on page 1 top 4 spots. Now it's bottom of page 2. Though only if you check manually.

So yes very sudden.

Thnx for caring. Funny thing I just added 40 new articles for other keywords before this shit hit the fan.
 
yup it happened for my client site though before 3 weeks but i pulled it again to # 1 page 5th spot now..Its a Great war maintaining our website in # 1 Page.
 
Back to # 2 spot.

Whooo!

WTF was that drill all about.
